Did anyone really believe that the city of Madison’s decision to kill hundreds of geese would solve the “problem”? This story keeps getting worse and worse.
“Besides being a controversial thing to do, it’s not effective by itself,” said Stacy Taeuber, who served on the Vilas goose committee and recommended nonlethal means like modifying their habitat by putting in taller brush along shorelines. “It’s kind of a big change, and it may be expensive initially. But, in the long run, that’s what’s going to keep geese away.”
